A MESSAGE FROM DAVID

Dear residents,

As your representative in the NSW Parliament I have worked hard to make sure the Central Coast gets its fair share.

With yo ur support we have achieved a lot for our community. Most significantly, our community campaign stopped the privatization of Wyong Hospital.

Through the Community Building Partnership Program and Local Sports Grants Program we have funded dozens of useful projects in the electorate including a new grandstand and track for the Mingara Athletics Field as well as upgrades to five Council playgrounds.

All State roads in the electorate have received significant funding, with major upgrades completed on Wyong Road and the Pacific Highway at Ourimbah. The Entrance bridge got a new coat of paint. And we stopped the state governments plan to demolish Ourimbah Railway Station Masters Cottage.

Whilst I have tried to work constructively with the state government, what has become clear to me over the last four years is this: Liberals have the wrong priorities for the Central Coast and NSW.

The Liberals are committed to splurging $2.2 billion on stadiums in Sydney and will continue to privatise of state assets. Labor will end privatization and is committed to investing in health, education and local infrastructure.

The next state election which will be held on March 23rd.

My priorities for our region are:

Ensuring every child gets a first-class education.
I support Labors commitment to needs based funding of our schools (the Gonski model), free school transport and air-conditioning for all our schools.

Local road upgrades.
The Pacific Highway needs to move more quickly and pedestrian safety needs improving on all state roads. I’ll continue to work with Council to ensure my constituents get their fair share of local upgrades to kerb and gutter.

Better health services.
I support improved nurse to patient ratios and will always oppose privatization of our health service.

Improving public transport.
I want to see better access at all our railway stations and a reviewed timetable to reduce travel times to Sydney and Newcastle.

Control power prices.
The Liberals privatization of electricity has seen prices skyrocket. I support Labors plan to re-regulate the electricity companies and their price gouging.

As a community, we have achieved a lot together. I look forward to working with you to make the Central Coast a better and fairer place for us all.

Yours sincerely,
